a train that takes you far, far away
droplets of rain
through an open,
though broken,
window pane
nowherebound in that little train,
that takes folks in and out of this quaint little town,
a train everyone must take,
be it the king or the clown
oh, and we are moving out,
for in the distance – a li’l up above the valley – lives the queen of hills,
fast receding as dawn is upon us,
crowned by the sun that peeps through the crooked “V”,
though covered by the clouds is he,
even as the sunshine makes it way to me,
i say, miss you i shall,
o sweet li’l valley,
for i have been here,
and nowhere soon i shall be,
in a land far, far away,
searching for him who i shall ‘be’
sleepyheads all around,
i hear a sound,
ah yes, it is the engine chugging along,
singing the old, familiar, wordless song.
the trees pass by,
the birds atop them – away they fly,
all things that are new today
some day shall die
for they grow old,
or so it is i am told,
even as i sit back and behold,
‘adieu’ says the hand i so wanted to hold
parting is such sweet sorrow,
or so they say,
even as i hope for a glimpse tomorrow,
of that smile that used to make my day
ah, wasn’t it just yesterday,
when every tomorrow was a dream of today?
times – they sure have changed,
amidst things that happen – by chance, or those arranged
for even as today melts into yesterday,
i do not know if there is a tomorrow,
nor whether ’twill be
a jump of joy or a sigh of sorrow
Oh, what joy to not know!
What freedom from nightmares and dreams!
For every tomorrow then is free,
Of the dreams and nightmares today i see.
Life goes on, and I do not know
What – if anything – my story will be
nowherebound.
the usual play of words huh?
it’s all about the wordplay 🙂
🙂 Nice.
